Takedowns and DMCA notices

Nothing stored, nothing to switch off

Storiesaver never keeps a copy of a post, story or profile. When someone types a handle, our server asks an outside data service for the public material and the page shows it right there, live. Nothing is archived on our side, and there is no list of handles for us to edit, so we have no lever for hiding a single account or a single item from whoever looks next.

Getting it off Instagram

Once a piece stops being public on Instagram, no viewer can load it, this one included. Two ways get it there:

  • It’s your account: lock it (make it private), or remove the post, story or highlight in question.
  • It’s your work: report it to Instagram through its own copyright or reporting forms.

Each lookup here starts from scratch, so the very next one shows the change.

Email contact@storiesaver.com with “Copyright notice” in the subject line and you will hear back, normally within 48 hours. Name the work, link the exact post, story or highlight, state in good faith that its use was never authorised, declare on penalty of perjury that what you wrote is accurate and that the rights are yours or you act for their owner, and add an address we can reply to. Anything missing, we ask for by reply; an incomplete notice is not quietly binned.

What we can fix ourselves

Our how-to notes, page texts and brand images are ours to fix. If a valid notice concerns one of them, we correct or pull that passage or file and email you once it is done. For Instagram material, we reply with the two ways above.

Disagree with an edit we made?

If you think we edited our own note or image over a mistaken notice, send a counter-notice our way stating your name, how to reach you, the material involved and why the edit looks wrong. Whoever filed the first notice gets a copy from us.
